The WPGCC was established in 2019. We are the CKC parent club for the breed and are focused on all aspects of our Griff's lives. On this site you will find the history of our breed, conformation, performance, hunting & event info, breed health, and club information. We are a new and growing club that is actively welcoming to Griffon owners and enthusiasts.

Meet the BREED

VERSATILE SPORTING BREED

The Wirehaired Pointing Griffon is a rustic & vigorous dog, of medium size. Longer than they are tall, with strong limbs. They have bushy eyebrows, and a well-developed beard that give them a characteristic expression that is both firm and confident.

THE COAT

Their coat is wiry and course, reminiscent of the bristles of a boar. The coat needs some care to maintain its appearance, especially in the puppy stage as they start to lose some of the soft undercoat.

Temperament

The Griffon is a gentle and proud breed. They are excellent hunters, intelligent, and easy to train, with a sense of humor. They are very attached to their master and to their territory. The Griffon is gentle with children, & quite loyal.
